Daniel had been unemployed for a long period of time and was finding it hard to get back into work.

He didn’t have a landline or internet and his mobile phone was old with a poor performing battery. Not only this but the mobile signal in Daniel’s flat was terrible.

This did not stop Daniel from searching for work and in his exercise time, during the COVID 19 lockdown and the freezing weather conditions, Daniel would make his phone calls and do his job search.

Working with Daniel, we purchased a netbook, dongle and preloaded SIM. He worked with trainers Tara and Jodie to get the netbook and dongle set up and for Daniel to be able to use Teams meetings. We helped Daniel to polish his CV, had weekly chats and set targets and planned how we would find work.

Daniel was determined to get a job and due to his perseverance and the support from JETS, he secured a job at a store in Tiverton! The vacancy had been developed between the employer and the Employment Engagement team. JETS was clear on what type of employee they needed and put Daniel’s CV forward. Daniel attended the interview and got the job. We still talk weekly to make sure that Daniel is continuously supported.
