“I applied for Universal Credit in July 2020 and was allocated a Work Coach, Kate. Kate kindly referred me to JETS in October 2020 where I was given a super woman, also known as an Employment Advisor, called Emma!
“Emma made me feel positive again and removed the barriers and obstacles I was faced with. Since I have been supported by Emma, we have corrected and improved my CV, written supporting statements, actioned job applications and carried out mock interviews. The list of what we have achieved is endless really.
“We are in touch 2-3 times a week for support when I have found a new job that I want to run by her or for a sense check around ideas that I have for applications. I have also started looking at setting up my own soup delivery service to the surrounding areas and care homes. This is in its infancy at the moment, but it is a work in progress.
“My plan for the future is to transfer my skills and knowledge over to become the best Employment Advisor for Seetec Pluss. To help with this I have been on a course for a Support Worker for Employability. Emma has inspired me and motivated me to want to share my experience with other people. I want to share the journey I have had to help other people back to work.”
UPDATE April 21
Susan is now delighted to have been offered a role with Seetec Pluss as an Employment Coach for the Work and Health Programme- offering the same support to others that she received herself!
“After a difficult period of unemployment, I’m now able to give something back. Through all that I have done and learnt through Seetec Pluss; I know that I can be successful in my new role.”
