Jose started his journey on The Work and Health Programme when his mood was very low after a series of personal struggles. He was keen to work but did not know where to start looking and didn’t have a CV.

Jose was educated in Portugal and when coming to the UK knew barely any of the English Language. Through determination and dedication to his self-development, he landed himself a role as a commercial cleaner at a car mini plant. He enjoyed this role and loved having the responsibility of ensuring the workspace was fit for trade.

However, Jose lost a very close friend of his in early 2021. Not just a friend but someone who had supported Jose through many personal struggles, and this resulted in Jose leaving employment due to his mental health.

The first goal for Jose and his Employment Coach Francesca, was to create a CV which would wow employers, so they created this together. This landed Jose his first interview where he got the job, clearly a natural!

Sadly, due to some issues surrounding his right to work share code, he was not able to commence employment. This was a huge knockback for Jose, as he really wanted this to be the breakthrough he had been waiting for.

Jose’s mood became really low and he was understandably frustrated, but with help from Francesca he was able to continue his employability journey. They worked closely to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, which has resulted in Jose receiving the breakthrough he deserved!

Jose has now secured a permanent position with a national retailer and is fitting in just perfectly.

Jose said,

“The programme has helped me so much and a massive thank you to Francesca”

Francesca, said,

“Jose has overcome a lot of challenges with the support of the programme, and it has been a pleasure working with him. I wish him all the best and know he will be amazing in his new role”

Well done Jose and Francesca, what an amazing outcome!
