A Redditch based Employment Adviser has achieved a record number of job outcomes in October, supporting 11 Seetec Pluss participants on the Restart Scheme into work.
Fayezah Sheikh joined Seetec Pluss in January 2022, having previously worked in retail and for Citizen’s Advice. She is one of 5 Employment Advisers in Redditch, supporting over 450 participants who have started the Restart Scheme to find employment and identify training needs, by delivering employability sessions and helping to develop job skills.
Overall, the Redditch Restart Scheme team have supported 172 people into work, including Fayezah’s contribution of 51 people on her caseload into work. In October, Fayezah set a Worcestershire wide record for individual performance at Seetec Pluss!
Restart Scheme participant, Ian Williams, commented, “Thanks Fayezah for your help in finding me work. I’ve now got a job that is going great and your help was invaluable.”
James Clarke, another Restart Scheme participant, started work in October 2022 and said, “I have a health barrier and I required support with finding work around this. Fayezah advised me to attend an employer information session, which I did and it really built my confidence. I had a conversation with employers which resulted in an interview, in preparation for the interview, I undertook a mock interview with Fayezah.
“This was extremely helpful; It helped me to stay focused on my transferrable skills and enabled me to give examples of this. I didn’t feel like I was going to get the job as I had no experience. However, I was successful in my interview! I was really surprised and felt really good as this was my first interview in 6 years. I am currently in my second week of training with an amazing company.”
Another participant on Fayezah’s caseload, James MacDougall, said “I started the Restart Scheme thinking it would be like some of the other programmes I have been on. I have worked in a factory role for the majority of my working life however, due to my health barriers, I was unable to operate machinery. The last time I was in employment was 2017. My Employment Adviser, Fayezah, took time to listen to what I wanted to do and took my health barriers into consideration. I was enrolled onto and successfully completed an SIA course, and I now hold a SIA badge.”
“When I am at the Seetec Pluss office, everyone is encouraging and motivating and always looking for opportunities to help me progress in my efforts to start a new career. I have been happy to attend as all the staff have been friendly, helpful, supportive and listened to any request I had and made sure I felt comfortable in all we did.”
In recognising Fayezah’s achievement, Jav Iqbal, Business Manager at Seetec Pluss in Redditch, said “Fayezah has worked really hard to make sure everyone on her caseload is getting support to move forward with career and health goals. She has really gone the extra mile with finding the best solution for our participants. Her achievement in October is testament to her positive attitude and dedication to our business, and we’re delighted for her success.”
