We’ve teamed up with Treverbyn Community Trust, who have a van called, the ‘Lovely Van’. They use it to get out into communities for all sorts of activities.
We were recently at the Dracaena Centre in Falmouth, with Nick who was there to offer repairs services for laptops and mobiles, while Maggie, a careers adviser with the National Careers Service Cornwall team, met people to offer a range of careers advice.
Maggie saw people who were after information and advice on all sorts of topics, including apprenticeships, CV support, how to search for jobs online and what sort of courses were available, many which are free.
Maggie Satterthwaite said: “By joining up with Treverbyn we’re getting to see people who we may typically not reach.
“We can help people in loads of different ways. Whether someone isn’t currently employed or someone who has a job, but is looking to develop their career and move into a new role.”
More dates are being planned, but are not confirmed right now. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates.
