When Christine was referred to the Work and Health Programme it was identified that she had a hearing impairment. Her Employment Advisor, Rachael, set to work establishing requirements for reasonable adjustments and began to match Christine with the right employer.
The next step was to focus on building confidence in Christine through interview preparation and within her first week, she had secured an interview at Hobbledown Heath. They are a Disability Confident employer and a perfect match for Christine.
Before the interview, time was spent researching the journey to work, helping ensure the commute would meet Christine’s needs and limit any barriers.
The interview was a success, and Christine got the job!
The manager Natalie, couldn’t be happier with having Christine in the team,
“Christine has a great approach to everything she does. She’s always interacting with our guests and clearly enjoys activities within her role.”
Rachael now provides in- work support with monthly on-site visits ensuring Christine has all she needs to thrive at work.
Christine is very happy in her new role!
