Health and Wellbeing Coach, Any, leads the class

Health and Wellbeing Coach, Amy, leads a class of people over 50 whilst Louise, the DWP’s 50+ Champion for Cheshire, waits to talk about jobs and finances

Our Seetec Pluss teams in the North West have recently partnered up with the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) to deliver a series of workshops aimed at helping some of our participants, who are over 50, give their career journey a bit of an overhaul – or as they call it; a “Mini-MoT”.

The workshops are delivered by one of our team of Health and Wellbeing coaches alongside Louise Berry, the DWP’s 50+ Champion for Cheshire.

Amy talking about health and wellbeingThe aim is twofold; one, to offer advice and support on work and finances and, two, to look at health and wellbeing topics such as diet and meditation.

From mindfulness to managing pensions, breathing techniques to job-searching, the workshops have already proved really successful, something Louise says didn’t come as a surprise: “There are a lot of people in this age-group who were affected by the Covid pandemic,” she says, “many were furloughed and then didn’t go back to work.

“But the current cost of living has, perhaps, made them think again – and now they need some support and guidance.”

Health and Wealth

And whilst Louise talks the group through benefits, pensions and job-searching, our Health and Wellbeing coaches (in this case Amy) take a look at some of the things the group can do to make them feel better and more motivated so that they are in a better place to re-join the employment market.

The workshops have been taking place in our offices at Chester, Ellesmere Port and Warrington and the plan is to continue them in these, and other locations, in the future.
