Members of the National Careers Service team about to start their volunteering shift

Some of our team at the start of their volunteering shift at FareShare in Speke

One of the things our advisers often tell their customers is that volunteering can add extra value to your CV. It can show potential employers that you have additional skills and that you enjoy helping others.

So when Volunteers Week 2023 popped up on the calendar, some of our team decided they should get involved themselves.

So it was no surprise that a few weeks later they found themselves heading to FareShare Merseyside to spend a day finding out about food waste and re-distribution, and helping other volunteers in the warehouse, sorting, picking and packing food ready to be loaded up and delivered to charities and organisations across the North West and North Wales.

Take a look at this video to find out more about the day some of the National Careers Service team swapped their branded pink t-shirts for steel-capped boots and yellow hi-viz jackets….

Our team had a fantastic day and would like to thank the staff and volunteers at FareShare for inviting us along.
